Over the past five years, our committee has diligently worked to maintain operations, ensuring the continuity of monthly luncheons and community events whenever possible. Unfortunately, we’ve encountered major challenges such as the Covid pandemic and repeated instances of flooding. While insurance initially covered the costs of the first flooding incident, subsequent claims were delayed, requiring us to personally fund the necessary repairs.

We were able to negotiate with our insurance provider to allow the Dance Studio to operate under certain conditions, providing some much-needed income during these difficult times. Managing an association with only volunteers is no small feat, and while decisions may not always be universally popular, we always adhere to our Constitution and seek guidance from NSW Fair Trading and legal experts.

Recently, there have been claims from individuals purporting to be members of our association, but these claims are not valid. Some of these alleged members have acted against our Constitution, causing harm to the association. We will be taking disciplinary action in accordance with our rules.

Our Constitution clearly outlines the responsibilities of members and the committee, and it is expected that anyone joining our association understands these rules. While we’re all human and not perfect, our goal is to continually improve and serve the Armenian community.

Unfortunately, there have been false accusations made publicly against our committee and the association’s history. After seeking legal advice, we’ve found evidence of defamatory actions, breaches of privacy and harassment, which are completely unacceptable. Attempts by us to address these issues calmly have been met with hostility.

While we’d prefer not to resort to legal action, the continued spreading of false information may leave us no choice. Disciplinary measures outlined in our Constitution will be enforced against those involved, if necessary.

Thank you to those who have supported the AAA and continue to do so.
